Delivery day can be extremely stressful. Coming from someone who delivered 6 weeks early with Eloise, I know what it feels like to be rushed. With baby number two, I promised myself to be prepared well in advance for the unexpected. I have compiled things that I brought with my first baby, things I wish I had, and what I deem as essential for a hospital bag. I also added in things I learned with my first baby. For example, I needed heating packs and the hospital ones didn’t last long enough. This time around I am bringing my own! With pregnancy brain I made sure to add even the smallest necessary details – like my drivers license! I’ve compile all of these items into an easy hospital bag checklist for delivery! Feel free to save these to your phone and use them as a resource!
Hospital Bag Checklist for Mom, Dad + Baby
This time around I also made lists for dad, baby , and extras! I am ready and love having a checklist to get me organized. Our hospital bags are packed and it is starting to feel really real! We are so excited to be a family of 4.
One extra I am bringing along are gift baskets. As a nurse I want to show extra love and support to my nurses. I am going to make gift baskets with all the nurse essentials to show our appreciation for all nurses do- not only just for us! Especially during these crazy times I know how stressful nursing can be. We have been so lucky to get some amazing nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals. Also bringing snacks for us and change for vending machines!
If you are expecting or a know a momma who is- I hope this checklist is helpful. I know we all have specific needs and requirements but these are my tips to packing! I hope this helped relieve some stress in helping you make decisions, or even just a places to start. Make sure to check out my registry must haves for baby #2 here!
