One of my new year’s goals was to “read” more. Or in my case listen to more audio books. Because let’s be honest, goals should be obtainable and the likelihood of me sitting down to read anything but books to my toddler are slim to none. I did however manage some really great recent reads over the past month that I’m excited to share with you!
GET THE LOOK
SCORE: 8/10
I really enjoyed this one! It had such a great twist at the end that I definitely did not see coming! However, I do wish the author expanded on the ending a little more. It felt rushed. So much so that I re-read the last few chapters to see if I had missed something.

Lisa Gardner also wrote the book, Right Behind You, which I read this past December. I was literally obsessed. It was so good that I read it in three days, a record for me! I was so excited to read another book by her. However, this one is dark. As a mom, it was a little challenging to read some of the things about the dark corners of our world.

I decided to read this one because it was a great way to branch out from my usual thriller genre. I enjoyed it because it’s always interesting to learn about history ad just be in that era where things like Bridgerton existed. One thing that surprised me was that this book was a two part book. So I’ll be reading part two soon. I’m excited to see how the two books compliment each other!
