I know traveling can be hard- especially to places like Disney. I'm here to simplify that for you!
Family
Welcome to my world of style, sunshine, and adventure! I'm thrilled to share my passions, experiences, and fashion finds with you all. As a happily married mom of two with a background in nursing, my life is a beautiful blend of family, career, and selfcare.
Hey ladies, wow what a week. My heart is so heavy. I am truly waking up and praying over our country daily. That and making EVERY single effort I can to treat others with kindness, are the ripples I hope to spread into the world right now. While I know that may seem small in comparison to big events, I am focused on making my 2021 goals stick!
I am not a resolution person, but I thrive on GOALS. A year long resolution feels overwhelming to me. How can I commit overnight to something I have been struggling to do for the past year and all the sudden now I will do it everyday in the following year. It just makes me feel bad when I stop in March (if I even make it that long). For me personally, goals and a to-do list are part of my daily routine.
When thinking about what I hoped to accomplish in 2021, I had to note that 2020 made me realize so much is out of my control. In 2020 I hoped to travel a lot more before baby #2. Well we canceled 6 trips and I ended the year not pregnant. Not to be a downer at all, just sharing how the year helped me see that setting goals is a great thing, but also keeping in mind some things are out of my control and it’s ok to roll with that!
I have read that it is wise to set four basic goals : Spiritual, Financial, Personal and Professional. I saw a friend set marriage goals as well, and wanted to do this too! Below I am sharing briefly what each of my goals are and how I plan to accomplish them!
Spiritual – The main goal is to increase consistency. Last year we were home more than ever. But some how I lost the routine of daily time with the Lord. We weren’t going to church until September. Which also got me out of the habit of taking time to sit and read the word on my own. I want to not set to many rules and time qualifications on what usually is a not so quiet time. Instead, I want to set my alarm for a little before Eloise wakes up. I plan to take it day by day. I have done the past week and I am super proud of that! (Also trying to celebrate every viceroy big and small)
Financial – Obviously too personal to share but created some goals here too.
Personal – This is really just focusing on health. Mental and physical equally. If you have watched my stories I shared I want to start doing Orange Theory 3 times a week. I started in August with the goal to do it 2 days a week for 6 months. My new goal is Jan – July is 3 days a week. Starting in March I want to add one day a week of walking, which I enjoy a lot.
For mental health. I want to be very intentional about setting boundaries around blogging and focusing on not letting the negative comments get me so down. “Self Care Sunday” is a weekly practice I plan to do. I will be spending the last 30 minutes before bed either listening to a book or reading a book to unwind from the day. I also started Sudoku puzzle and they are a game changer and mental escape as well! Usually, I go to bed late after working and then struggle to turn my mind off. I know shutting of my phone and mind earlier each day with will help my mental health. This will then in turn allow me to be the best I can be physically.
Professional – I hope to delegate more and work with some dream brands this year! Most of this will stay the same with daily stories, posts and blog posts. However, I want to add in time blocking, where I set time limits on how long I work on something. Rather than chasing rabbit holes on the internet I want to consume less and produce more. I also am always trying to mix up how share content. We do have a few domestic trips planned this year. I will be OVERJOYED if we actually get to go! One is Disney, Eloise and I have NEVER BEEN! I know, I know, people really find it shocking. That trip would be a dream.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I encourage you to write down you goals and go back to them weekly or monthly to keep yourself accountable. You got this. 2021 may not be off to the start we hope and prayed for. But together we can turn somethings around and come together.
I hope to see you over on Instagram so that we can hang out and cheer each other on this year as we tackle our goals together! If you enjoyed this post, How I’m Making My 2021 Goals Stick, be sure to check out THIS one, I have a feeling you’re going to love it!
