Happy Monday!
Eloise’s Feminine Nursery Reveal is a labor of love. Honestly, I didn’t have a clear vision when I was pregnant but I knew I wanted it to be a space that she could grow into if we stayed in this house for a few more years. Priori to sweet Eloise, this room was a storage room. You would not believe the amount of cleaning and organizing it required prior to starting the nursery. I mean thank goodness for storage bins!
Andrew’s SUPER talented with woodwork and I knew I really wanted him to feel connected to Eloise’s Feminine Nursery Reveal and helping to bring her space to life. Once we cleared the room out, he started on the board and batten. He did it all by hand with the help of his dad. It is PERFECT. He finished when I was about 30 weeks pregnant and we thought this would give us about 10 weeks to finish the room. Little did we know she would be coming in half that time!
I am honestly glad it took a minute to come together because the pieces in her nursery are SO special and detailed. For example, if we had finished before she came we never would have known this is the song we listened to every night for her first few months. It became so special to us that I reached out to The Little Bird about creating a sign. I made sure to position it so it was the first thing you saw when you enter the space, it’s one of my favorite pieces in the nursery.
Theses shelves are a bit of an investment. However, I know I want quality pieces and am ok if it takes me a little longer to get them together. It’s worth it in the long run. I loved the white and gold and felt it elevated the space. As a mama, I especially love that it has the bar to keep things from falling off!
Literally the night before I went to my 35 week appointment, I came home from a 12 hour shift at the children’s hospital. Andrew and his parents are finishing the wallpaper and I sat on the floor…. EXHAUSTED and ate a massive pub sub. We were so excited to start seeing the whole space coming together. We had no idea that it would be our last night in the house without a baby. You can read more about that story here!
One of Eloise’s favorite things are books! The girl loves to look at books and will read all day everyday. These shelves were an IKEA purchase and they hold so many books and are also very secure in the wall.
I feel like everything in the nursery has a story and a special meaning which is JUST how I was hoping it would turn out. A nurse at the hospital (the oldest and most precious) on our unit hand stitched this dress. Although Eloise won’t wear it until she is 2 years old it will hang in her room until then because it is SO special to me!
^^ This was the card my mom gave me on my first Mothers Day! I hope to recreate the picture with Eloise one day.
The pottery barn chair is literally one of the best purchases she’s gotten. My parents got it for her for her first birthday and she can not get enough of it! Sits in it every single day and loves to read in it. I think it feels like her little space!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Photos by KVCPhotography.
