Welcome to my world of style, sunshine, and adventure! I'm thrilled to share my passions, experiences, and fashion finds with you all. As a happily married mom of two with a background in nursing, my life is a beautiful blend of family, career, and selfcare.
I am totally a goal oriented person so when the year starts I love get a new planner, sit down and make new goals for the year. I try to say goals over resolutions because I feet like just relate better to goals and feel like I achieve something when I reach them. When thinking about my goals I really want to make sure everything is realistic. Nothing is worse then setting a goal for yourself only to realize later it sounds great but was not ever something you could realistically achieve. It almost wish I had never set the goal in the first place and end up feeling defeated.
Because we are having a baby in June I am going to be splitting my goals into two parts. From January to June I have some serious goals that we defiantly need to get done. From June on my goal look much different.
January – June Goals
Get baby girls nursery together – As of right now we have nothing. haha so I am not off to a good start. I have been eyeing this crib in white and it comes back in stock January 25th so I will be ordering it then. We are keeping it pretty simple because her room isn’t huge and I am worried that it will feel cluttered if we try to do too much. I am going for a very classic elegant vibe yet I want to keep it fun and young. I don’t want it to be too elegant that she doesn’t feel like she can touch anything in it! We are planning to keep the colors very simple, pale pink, white (of course) and maybe hints of gold. Once we get the crib in the room and actually get the room cleaned out then I feel like we have a better idea of what the game plan is! Right now for the month I am hoping to clean out the room and order the crib.
This is one goal I will always have because I think it’s so important – doing a daily quiet time. This doesn’t mean to me that I am doing a “study book” or have to do something very structured or rigid everyday. To me and in my relationship with the Lord it means taking time out of everyday to spend with the Lord. This may be listening to a pod cast, doing a study book, listening to worship music or just sitting down to journal. I don’t like to put a lot of pressure on what I am doing so to speak, I just truly feel like I see such a difference in who I am and how my heart is when I set aside time daily to spend with the Lord.
Blog related goals – My blog is something that is so special to my heart. I think about it and work on it pretty much any second I am not working at the hospital I am focusing on what I can do to improve my blog. Currently I work at the hospital full time which is three – 12 hours shifts. I know to some that doesn’t sound like a lot but not being able to be off and run errands after work because I get off so late means that I have to be very prepared for the work week before I ever even get to the hospital. I don’t then I have months like December where I barley post, am hardly ever on stories and just feel like I can’t keep up. The better prepared I am for each the confident I feel about my blog and what I have prepared for y’all. Any who, I get to go part time after baby and I am THRILLED!! Could actually cry because it will be 2 -12’s at the hospital and then endless time with my babe on days off Praise Jesus, all this to say I feel like it will give me a lot of time to focus on my blog and much more time to achieve some of the goals listed below.
Work with new brands
Post to my Blog 3 times a week
Hit 100K
Have more variety to my content more recipes, hair, make up, skin care, home and baby not just strictly clothing.
Add a member to my team – not really a full on assistant by any means just someone to help me keep up with things esp on days I work.
Keep working out through pregnancy – After not being able to work out for months it feels SO GOOD to be able to exercise again. This is not something I ever thought I would look forward to in pregnancy but I actually really do. It makes me feel so much better. I’m not doing anything crazy just walking, Zumba, and now that Kayla Itsines is pregnant and sharing work out I am going to start a few of those. The biggest thing with working out just like when I wasn’t pregnant is being intentional with my time and try to stay really consistent it in!
Pass my Certification exams- I started a new role at work, without getting into too many details I would love to pass my Certification exams in few months and BE DONE!!
These are just a few of my goals for this year to get me to June. Once baby girl gets here my goals are definitely going to change to survive and sleep as much as possible. I will be sharing more game plans we have for schedules and supplies for baby and a 20 week bump update next week!
Thank you so much for reading along and I can’t wait to share more in the coming weeks!
