Hey Ladies!
I feel like we announced that we were pregnant and then I took off to NYC, totally ghosted y’all! I want to share all the details about my first trimester with you! First I want to start off by saying we are SO HAPPY and thankful. I don’t want to take once second for granted. Second I want to say Thank You for your sweet messages, and comments about our news! It made this experience just that much more fun to get to share it with all of you! We were both blown away with the out pouring of kindness, it was truly humbling.
We found out we were pregnant in September…….like 3 months ago! Talk about a secret to keep. If you know me even a little you know I am the WORST secret keeper ever. I mean if it is a big, important or special secret I will keep it. But the ending to a movie, what I got Andrew for Christmas or a fun Bachlor spoiler and I am the worlds worst, I just get so excited I can’t wait to tell. Needless to say, we had talked about trying and so around Fathers Day Target had all of their “Dad” goodies out and so I grabbed some up right away. I got a “Best Dad Ever” tee shirt for Andrew along with “#1 Dad” socks. I stored them in the back of my closet and waited for the sweet day I got to give them to Andrew. I had this great plan in my head of how I would surprise Andrew and tell him that he was going to be a Dad!!
Well remember how I can’t keep surprises…….. this news was no exception. The night I took the test my entire “plan” went out the window and I wrapped up the tee shirt and socks, along with the manyyyy pregnancy test (I couldn’t believe it) and walked into the room and gave it to him! It was one of the sweetest moments of my life, so thankful for it!
The week we went to the beach in October was week 6 of pregnancy and that is when the nausea hit me hard. I mean I was pretty sick, Mac and cheese for breakfast and slept all the time! It was the start of some an interesting couple of weeks. Working at the hospital and trying to Blog full time already kept me feeling like I was going at 100 miles an hour as it was. I have written multiple blog post and shared pretty openly how I struggle to balance it all. Nothing will slow you down like throwing up morning, noon, and night, whewww. I have learned so much about contentment, and just being ok with where the Lord has me. Most nights, esp after 12 hours shifts at the hospital I literally came home, took a shower and was in bed as fast as I could, 7:30 was a new bedtime. I wasn’t making it up to post at night and was just trying to make it through each shift. I was really worried it would effect my blog, and my relationship with you girls. But honestly its amazing that it’s like y’all didn’t even skip a beat. Everyone (without even knowing I was pregnant) was still so sweet, support and just kind of met me where I was without even knowing that is exactly what I needed. Maybe I am just hormonal but I could just cry thinking how THANKFUL I am for all of you!
While I was super sick weeks 6-13 some things the worked for me where:
Things that did not work:
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing this special time with us!! We are so excited and it has been so much fun to share it with you all.
The second trimester is in full swing, I am feeling SO MUCH BETTER! Praises! I haven’t gotten sick in a week and a half and have so much more energy it’s not funny. We find out the gender this weekend, HORRAYY! Can’t wait to share.

Your announcement pictures are so pretty! You said you took them at 6 weeks?! Are you wearing any maternity clothes that you can recommend for expectant mothers as well? Thank you in advance!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who found chickfila helpful during the 1st trimester! Based on this post, I think we are due around the same time. Congrats!
