I know traveling can be hard- especially to places like Disney. I'm here to simplify that for you!
Family
Welcome to my world of style, sunshine, and adventure! I'm thrilled to share my passions, experiences, and fashion finds with you all. As a happily married mom of two with a background in nursing, my life is a beautiful blend of family, career, and selfcare.
I am so excited to share a complete recap of our Disney trip with you all! As many of you know, it was mine, Andrew and Eloises first trip to Disney ……EVER. There were a lot of learning curves for our little family! But the number one thing I did that I would recommend, is using a travel agent.
Lia who I have shared multiple times in stories did everything. She made every single reservation and even got Andrew on the Star Wars ride. She woke up at all different hours to be the first to make sure our trip was planned down to every single detail. As someone who could barely tell you what the names of the 4 parks were this was the best thing we did! You can message her on instagram @onthebrinkofadventure for more information. The best part, it costs you literally nothing! Disney pays her to plan the trip. It’s a WIN-WIN!
It’s because of Lia that our trip was amazing!
We chose to fly because Eloise is still under 2 so no mask for her which was really nice. For the flight we found it was actually cheaper to upgrade to first class. A win in our book! To check our bags it would add about $150 more. With first class you get free check bags and more space.
The flight was only an hour so we put on a movie for Eloise and gave her lots of snacks! I did bring headphones but she didn’t like them at all so she chose to just watch the movie with no noise. Who can understand the mind of a toddler. The flight was actually a breeze. Tip from Lia – we put her in the stroller and kept her in it the entire time. Through security all the way to the gate and right before we got on the plane. We gave it to the team and they put it under the plane. Then it is waiting for you when you get off.
A fun twist is there is a rental car shortage YIKES! We had to pay a good bit for an SUV but it was worth it because we used it constantly. Lia scheduled this service that will meet you outside the airport with a carseat, they were easy and just sent a text and met me right where they said they would. The only thing I would have changed here is just having a car with the carseat already installed. Also I forgot to mention that Eloise is still rear facing, the carseat was front facing, another little plot twist in the day.
In 100 degree heat, there we are YouTubing how to install this carseat front facing. Thank goodness she can technically ride front facing. We got it figured out but Eloise was very ready for a nap at that point. She fell asleep on the way to the hotel and we got fully checked in around 3 pm.
Our hotel was the Riviera Disney Resort. I would highly recommend, we honestly don’t have anything negative to say it was a fantastic hotel! We did a mobile order at Primo Piatto and ate on the balcony of our room. After that we were ready to jump into the fun so we hit the pool. You can order on your phone or just walk to the bar and get food and drinks. Next we ordered groceries and then ended up taking the car out and trying to get the lay of the land a little. Grabbed some tacos and came home. The hotel had a pack and play that Eloise slept in, I did bring my own sheets from home. It took her sometime to fall asleep and adjust. The first night was the hardest and then she was totally fine!
The park is open from 8am -9pm. We got up and ate some cereal in the room while getting ready. I chose to wear a dress and comfortable tennis shoes because honestly a waistband sounds zero percent fun at 16 weeks pregnant. Couple of things, I would defiantly just do the magic bracelet because your pass for the parks and money for food will all be in one place. We drove to the park but I didn’t realize that we then got on the Monorail or the Ferry boat to get to the park. I would just add a little extra time in the AM for that!
Eloise was able to ride the most rides in this park. We did Pooh Bear ,Dumbo, It’s a Small World Boat Ride and took snack breaks in between. You can also get cups of water all throughout the park, however when we tried to get it at a restaurant and still needed to order something in order to go in and get water so we just got a small side item and lots the cups of water. Another tip we got was to bring crystal light or something yummy to put in your water to keep you drinking and help it taste better.
Eloise typically goes down about 1pm but our reservation for Belles Castle was at 1. We went for it and it wow it did not disappoint. It is a little pricy but the food was great. Honestly Eloise had no idea what Beauty and Beast was but ever since that lunch she has watched the movie and asks for it daily now. My heart is so happy because it was my favorite as a little girl.
Eloise could not even make it to the car before she passed out and another day of about a 15 min nap, oh boy! She actually did great though. We came back to the hotel and even though she was up we tried to just get have rest time and went back out around 4:30. First, we did the River Boat ride, Aladins Magic Caret ride, and did a Mobile order for Pizza at Pinocchio Village Haus. We ended up ordering a second pizza because it was great! Next was Merry Go Round, Tea Cups (twice) and Dumbo two more times. Eloise didn’t go to bed until about 10pm but loved every second!
Animal Kingdom is open 8am – 8pm. I would start by saying a lot more was closed in this park than in Magic Kingdom. We actually loved this park so much. It was so updated with amazing technology and different cultures. We drove to the park this day too and our number one to do in this park was the Safari. There wasn’t a long wait maybe 20 minutes and we hoped on. Eloise loved it and was very into it the entire time. It takes about 25 minutes in total. We took a break to grab snacks at Tamu Tamu. Next we went to see monkeys, reptiles and a few fish.
The cast member really wanted Eloise to try a Dole Whip and gave us one for free, it was so sweet. We headed to see monkeys, fish and reptiles. Last we got caught in a major rain storm, ponchos couldn’t save us. We along with most of the park ran for cover for about 30 minutes and than ran to the Avatar River Boat ride. This day we knew we had to make sure to get back to the hotel on time to get Eloise a nap. We just knew she couldn’t run two days in a row on 15 min naps. We headed to lunch at Rainforest Cafe (reservation made by Lia). This was awesome, she thought the animals were so much fun! After we headed home and we all napped, thank goodness.
We didn’t get back to the park until about 5 pm and headed straight for Dinasoar Land. Eloise road the TriceraTop Spin three times and really got into it. It was the first time she would put her hands up on a ride which was so special to see. Dinner pickings were a little slim so we ended up getting dumplings and fries and ate at this little private rest area. It has the best view of the Tree of Life and we ended up grabbing more dumplings because they were so yummy!
We headed to a night Safari ride and then did the Avatar Boat ride one more time. It was 7:50 when we got off and I pushed Andrew to do the Avatar Flight of Passage ride before the park closed. He said it was amazing and totally worth waiting in line for about 45 minutes to ride. We didn’t leave the park until about 9:00 but it was worth it to see the park lit up at night.
This was much needed for our little family. We all were better off because of it! Eloise and I grabbed a mobile order breakfast at Primo Piatto and took a little walk. The Adult pool opens at 7am and the kid pool opens at 10 am. We headed to the pool and then the sand court while she played but honestly she was pooped. We ordered lunch from the Bar Riviera and took it up to the room.
I headed to the pool while Eloise napped. We headed to Disney Springs when Eloise got up and were all in much better spirits. To be honest we LOVED Disney Springs. It was so fun, filled with live music and restaurants. We had reservations at Chef Arts Homecomin. Holy cow this was amazing food. We even had water view which was beautiful too. We ordered the hush puppies, which comes with pimento cheese, and cheese biscuits. Andrew got the chicken sandwich and I chose shrimp and grits. Highly recommend both!
We did another quick breakfast inside and then headed to the park. We knew the next two parks both had Frozen attractions which is basically why we were there. Eloise loves Elsa and Anna. We had the best surprise, Lia our travel agent met us for the day and showed us around the park. She gave us a peak into the best places to eat, rides that Eloise would love and just made the day amazing! We headed straight for Toy Story land and did the Alien Swirling Saucers.
Lia got Andrew on the list to ride the Star Wars Ride, she woke up early to put his name on a list. We got the notification in the app that it was his time and while he did that we went to the Muppets Show. Honestly it was in AC and we got to sit so I was in. And of course Eloise loved it, so win-win. It was time for lunch and we had reservations at an Mama Melrose’s which we were pumped about. However they were running about 30 minutes behind reservations times and Eloise was not going to hang. We canceled those reservations and got quick service pizza then headed to the hotel to nap.
Post nap we had one mission and it was to see the Frozen show. We didn’t get back to the park until 5:10 and the next showing was 5:30. It was already full so we went to the Micky Mouse show and then got in line for the 6:30 showing. This by far was her favorite part of the day, she was THRILLED. Lia recommended Woody’s Lunchbox for Dinner so the three of us did that, I highly recommend the grilled cheese and tomato soup!
Andrews brother gave some recommendations for amazing meat dishes in Star Wars area so Andrew grabbed that and loved it. Not quite sure all the details but if you want them DM me and I will find out! As we left the park I add churros and chocolate sauce and for me that was the best ending to the day.
We started off with A charter breakfast at our hotel. Apparently reservations here are very hard to get, another reason why I would highly recommend Lia. She woke up at 5 AM to get these! It was the closest we got to see Mickey and Minnie which was amazing for Eloise. The food is also devious and the servings were so large we took half home and ate it for breakfast the next day.
We didn’t get home until very late the previous night so we knew pushing her may be hard but wanted her to get to do everything. The park opened at 11 and we arrived at the Frozen ride at 11:09 and it had a 45 min wait. The Dory ride didn’t have a line so we did that instead. Which by the way it’s great and she loved it. Then we did a Living with the Land boat ride.
By now the park went from no one being there to jam packed. I couldn’t believe how full. We rushed over to a taco stand and grabbed lunch, Eloise fell asleep for about an hour while we ate and the Frozen ride line got even longer, of course! At this point, we were all in need of a little rest, so we headed back to the hotel.
We went to Magic Kingdom at 4 and rode our favorite rides from the previous time plus Peter Pan! Then headed back to Epcot determined to ride the Frozen ride. When we got to the park it was CLOSED. They didn’t think it would re-open for the night and by now it was about 8 pm. We always want our kids to experience everything, but I know she’s only two and will not remember anyways. Epcot was great and honestly it would be fun to just do as adults. There is a ton of yummy food and drinks everywhere we defiantly want to go back and experience it for the day.
That was a complete recap of our Disney trip! If you are planning a trip, I hope you find this helpful!
I am going to link my most used items below and hope you find it helpful. We loved this trip and already can’t wait to go back. Andrew keeps looking at me and saying “we’re Disney people now!” It is so true.
