I know traveling can be hard- especially to places like Disney. I'm here to simplify that for you!
Family
Welcome to my world of style, sunshine, and adventure! I'm thrilled to share my passions, experiences, and fashion finds with you all. As a happily married mom of two with a background in nursing, my life is a beautiful blend of family, career, and selfcare.
My mom and I just returned home from a weekend mother-daughter getaway at Chateau Elan, a winery and resort located in Braselton, GA. It sits just north of Atlanta. We had the most amazing time relaxing by the pool, enjoying the spa and eating some fabulous food. It’s a great place to unwind and recharge, and thought I would share a Chateau Elan weekend travel guide.

When we arrived to the resort, we darted straight to the spa! It’s a strong way to start off a vacation. 🙂 They have all the treatments you’d expect at a luxury spa – massages, facial treatments, body treatments, a nail salon and fitness and wellness services. We opted for the 50 minute Swedish massage and then the steam and shower. Heavenly!
What’s amazing about the spa is that if you book a treatment, you get access to the spa pool (indoor, saltwater pool) and other amenities for an entire day. So it’s nice that you can make a whole day out of the experience. I’d recommend booking early because they typically fill up quickly.
Looking back, we should have booked the spa treatments early in the day on Saturday, instead of the evening. We felt a little rushed because we had reservations for dinner.
On Friday evening, we went to Versailles Restaurant & Bar for dinner. It’s one of the eight restaurants they have on the property.
The restaurant is French-inspired and sits under a gorgeous glass-top atrium. They take reservations, so I’d make them. They also serve breakfast and lunch at this location as well.
After dinner, we went to a painting class that they offer on the property. They provide everything from the wine to the art supplies. Additionally, the class is guided by a local artist. During our class, we painted a picture of a flower bouquet. It was a fun and unique experience, and can book your reservations on their website found HERE.
We ended our first day at the resort with Irish coffees, cheesecake and s’mores. Every day at dusk, they offer fireside s’mores that you can make yourself. You can purchase the s’more kits at Le Petit Cafe and roast the marshmallows at fire pits located throughout the property.
On Saturday morning, we woke up and chose to go to the breakfast buffet. But we didn’t eat enough to make the all-you-can-eat worth it. Then we headed straight to the pool. The resort has one outdoor pool with ultra chic black and white chairs, umbrellas and cabanas. It’s so beautiful and perfect for lounging and relaxing.
You can bring beverages down from your room in your own cups or you can purchase from the poolside restaurant. We did both!
At 6pm, we had reservations for a wine tasting at the winery located on the property. There are a variety of tours and tastings you can do. The winery grows many of their own grapes in their vineyards on the property as well as at their south Georgia vineyards. So if you’re interested in learning more about the wine-making process, they offer guided tours.
For our wine tasting, we received seven pours. Plus we were able to hear some of the history of the winery and vineyards. We should have allowed more time for the wine tasting. Because we had dinner reservations at 7pm, we had to come back to finish our tasting after dinner. So in hindsight, plan for more than hour, if you do the tasting.
On Saturday evening, we went to Marc Restaurant on the property. It’s an upscale steakhouse that uses local ingredients as much as possible. We sat on the patio, and it was lovely!
We ended the day with more s’mores. 😉 It was the perfect ending to the perfect day with my mom.
On Sunday, we grabbed coffee and looked around at some of the seven shops they have on the property before heading back home.
We heard amazing things about the cooking classes. We just didn’t have time to do any of them.
Bring cash for tipping during your stay – $5 and $10 bills.
Leave more time for things like the spa and wine tasting. We just felt a tad rushed in those instances.
There’s so much to see and do at Chateau Elan with all the activities they offer from golf to cooking classes, fitness classes, mixology demonstrations and so much more. It’s a great place to get away and relax.
