Book Of The Month

When I first chose this book I treated it like a true bookclub where I had never read it and we were in this together! I really did not know what to expect.

Few Things I Liked

I loved the setting of the book. It took place on the coast of Italy in Positano. I loved reading about the culture. The Mother/Daughter aspect was great. I am close with my mom and it tugged at my heart to hear of her pain.  I enjoyed a light read, it was a nice change of pace from my usual psychological thriller or (newly into) fantasy books. 

Few Things I Did Not Like

At times the book was a little slow for me. I didn’t love the entire plot with Adam, I am obviously very committed to marriage so did not love that she was willing to compromise hers. In the end she came back to Eric and Adam ended up being in he past. This was a redemptive part for sure!

Overall Book Of The Month Review

Overall, I think it’s an easy read, once I figured out that we time jumped I got really into it. I liked that she got to meet her mom at a younger age and appreciate the choice her mom made to come back to her. 

I liked that she chose her marriage and chose to move forward in her life and work through the grief she was experiencing. At the end, I even got a little emotional when she chose her husband.

I think it was a little hard to relate to, I would be crushed don’t get me wrong, if my mom passed. However the loss of identity that the book described would be how I would feel if something happened to Andrew. I struggled to fully relate in that aspect.
