Family
Welcome to my world of style, sunshine, and adventure! I'm thrilled to share my passions, experiences, and fashion finds with you all. As a happily married mom of two with a background in nursing, my life is a beautiful blend of family, career, and selfcare.
The holidays are my favorite time of the year! They are filled with festive activities from going to see lights with family, cookie swaps and breakfast with Santa. It gives you the perfect excuse to break out the tartan plaid, the sequins and all things velvet. I also love to use this time to experiment with fun hair styles. In this post, I’m sharing 7 easy ways to style your hair for the holidays! These are all simple styles that take less than 5 minutes to execute and little skill. Trust me, if I can do it with a new born in the sling and a toddler pulling at my leg, you can too!
In this style you are going to section your hair off by pulling the top half of your hair back and splitting it into two large sections. Next, you are going to twist each section until tight. One you have your twist, hold the end and gently pull at the twist to give it a little texture. Then you are going to use a bobby pin or two to hold the hair in place. Repeat this for the next side!
To get this look you’ll first want to pull your hair into two side back and secure with a small clear hair tie. Then you are going to flip the small pony tail through the two sides back to get the look of a twist. Next you are going to take the front section of your hair and make two small braids, securing them with a small plastic hair tie. Next, pull your loose hair into a low bun. Now take the two braids and wrap the low bun and pin in place.
Yep, this one truly does take only 15 seconds. All you need is a hair tie for this one. Pull your hair into a low bun. Wrap the excess hair around the bun and tuck into the hair tie at the bottom. The trick it to twist counterclockwise!
This one might just be my favorite. I can’t resist an opportunity to wear a velvet bow this time of year! Okay, I’m going to be honest, you may just want to watch the video for this tutorial. You will need a few small clear hair ties, a clip and a combo to complete this look, oh and a bow of course!
If you’re wanting your hair back and out of your face, but also pretty, this look it for you! You’ll need a few clear hair ties to make this happen. Start by taking a small section and pulling it into two sides back. Your going to flip the pony tail trough the two side back to create a twist. Next, grab another small section of hair and do the same step as above. Repeat a few more times until you have a full french twisted braid!
For this hairstyle, I recommend a day or two old hair and having a little curl to you hair before you do your ponytail. If you need to add texture, spray some dry shampoo in your hair! You’re going to pull your hair back into a low ponytail. Next flip the ponytail through your hair to create a twist. Pull it tight to secure it. Take a small section of your ponytail and wrap it around the pony tail holder and tuck it in or use a bobby pin to section it.
This is my tried and true holiday hair style! I’ve worn it to weddings, parties and everything in between. You are going to pull your hair into two sides back and create a french twist. Next, pull the remainder of your hair into a low bun. the excess hair sticking out of the bun you will wrap around your hair tie and secure with a bobby pin.
