Family
Welcome to my world of style, sunshine, and adventure! I'm thrilled to share my passions, experiences, and fashion finds with you all. As a happily married mom of two with a background in nursing, my life is a beautiful blend of family, career, and selfcare.
Hi Girl Friends!
I want to start by saying maternity photos were one of the BEST things I have experienced with Andrew in our marriage. Katie from KVCPhotography, who I work with on blog photos, took these for us. Katie told me when we first got to the location that these would be a little different than blog photos………she was right. It was AMAZING. Each time we went to take pictures Katie would have us say things to one another like ” Andrew tell MM what you’re most excited see in her when she becomes a mom” and I would say it back to him. He hummed our first dance at our wedding song to me in some of the photos, we prayed over one another and our ability to be parents. The list just keeps going about things Katie would have us say and pray to one another. I literally started crying and we had to lighten the mood a little because I couldn’t take it (pictured later in the post). Â I told Andrew I didn’t even care how these photos turned out that I was just so glad we got to experience something that intimate before she gets here.
I am going to be honest I haven’t been as good as I wanted to be as bump updates, however this is my blog post to totally redeem myself haha. I am now in my third trimester, 33 weeks, and we are seeing that each day is another day closer to us actually getting to hold our sweet baby girl! I can NOT believe in 7 weeks she will be here.
So before we dive into whats going on in our lives right now, I want to recap my second trimester for you! If you missed it here are details on my first trimester!
Second Trimester Recap
Best Part of the Second Trimester: Feeling 100% better, having energy, feeling her move for the first time.
Worst Part of Second Trimester: Honestly nothing except that it flew by. We had a brief moment at one of our ultrasounds that her tummy was too big which can be an early sign of a few underlying conditions. Having a history of nursing in the pediatric ICU for 6 years my mind went a little nuts. I was completely DISTRAUGHT for about 24 hours and then I literally had to give it over to the Lord. Â To the point of where I just couldn’t really talk about it or think about because I would dwell on what I can not control. Anytime it came to my mind I just started praying.
Second Trimester Food Cravings: Still loving all the OJ! I drink it everything morning. I can finally start having coffee again which is a beautiful thing. I’ve been loving Luna bars, still can always go for Chick fil a, Mexican and Pizza.
Third Trimester/ Life right now
Life right now is going great, just crazy. Each weekend until the second week of May is pretty full with commitments and showers. We are so excited and thankful that people would want to celebrate us and baby girl! I have gotten asked a lot about a nursery update, it’s going to be hot minute. That project is coming along slowly by very surely. Andrew is in the middle of opening up his own State Farm. Which is a ton of work on it’s own, add in a baby to the mix due two days after he opens and you just have to sit back, laugh and enjoy the ride. It’s been such an amazing experience, I am starting to get sad we only have 7 weeks left!
State Farm side-note — We waited for about 2 years for a good opportunity and location to become available. We were kind of holding off trying to get pregnant until we knew what we want doing with his job. Once we finally got to a point of surrender and said ok we can’t wait any longer to try for a baby we will just trust that the Lord will provide a location in his timing. We found out we were pregnant and due June 3rd. A month later Andrew heard of an opportunity in the location we wanted opening June 1st…… we had to just go for it and have faith over fear!
Best Part of Third Trimester:Â Seeing her move and Andrew getting to feel her kick too! Getting to celebrate her arrival with those we love, all of our showers are’t until this trimester. Seeing her nursery start to come together.
Worst Part of Third Trimester: Feet swelling, back pain, shifts at the hospital feeling like they are never going to end and just being exhausted again.
Third Trimester Food Cravings: OJ OJ OJ, I can’t get enough. Cereal has been an easy meal to eat because it doesn’t give me heartburn (which is rare for almost anything I eat right now haha)
All this to say we are OVERJOYED and feel so blessed to welcome her into the world. She doesn’t even have a clue how loved she will be! I am so thankful for yall’s support along the way, everyone has been so kind and gracious to us. It’s been overwhelming and we are forever grateful.
Here are some fun bloopers I couldn’t wait to share. Andrew just makes life so fun, can’t wait to watch him be a dad!
^^ real ugly face crying because Katie was getting Andrew to say why he thinks I am going to be a good mom, cue the water works!
I am sorry in advance for how long this was but I was covering quite a bit of ground.
